Morgan 3 Wheeler in Cornwall
The First Year
It has been a year since the much anticipated arrival of the first new Morgan 3 Wheeler at Perranwell Garage. Its been an exciting year for us working with this widely acclaimed new Morgan, which is without doubt one of the best fun new cars made today.
Our demonstrator (presently for sale) finished in hot red has drawn admiring glances wherever it goes. The distinctive sound of the V twin approaching always draws attention. Those that have driven it, invariably return from their test drive with a big smile on their faces and full of praise for what is without doubt a unique and stimulating motoring experience. Modern cars have over time got larger, ever more complex and seem to increasingly isolate the driver from the raw sensations of ‘driving’. The Morgan 3 Wheeler does the exact opposite.
Morgan 3 Wheeler - New Owners
We have supplied and prepared a number of new Morgan 3 wheelers for delighted owners in the South West and beyond. One new owner from Germany came over to Cornwall to collect his car and drive it home ! The feedback from owners has been very positive. For owners who live in Cornwall they have the added benefit of being able to enjoy their cars on the great driving roads (and stunning landscape) which proliferate in the county.
Feedback - Motoring Press
The motoring press over the past year have been universal in their praise of the new Morgan 3 Wheeler. Of the numerous road tests and reviews written, probably the most eagerly awaited was the review by the widely respected weekly Autocar . Its roadtest awarded the Morgan 3 Wheeler with the rare accolade of 5 out of 5 stars and they nominated it as their favourite sports roadster. Their view was that “The 3 Wheeler is the most fun thing Morgan, or quite possibly any other car maker produces today”. To see a few selected extracts from the media reviews so far just click here.
Morgan 3 Wheeler - Design
The New Morgan 3 Wheeler is an iconic design but has been updated with 21st technology making it ‘fun’ yet easy to drive. The design follows the original formula with a grunty two cylinder V twin driving the rear wheel on a lightweight tubular chassis, with some ash framework and an aluminium body. The SS 2 litre V twin is mated to an MX-5 gearbox, which is connected via bevel box and belt drive to the single rear wheel. Front suspension is by the wishbones with steering is direct and unassisted. There are no driving aids !.
