Perranwell Garage is a specialist in Morgan cars, but we also work extensively on a broad spectrum of other classic cars.

Classic car owners will understand the importance of having a specialist classic car garage to maintain their cars. We have accrued over 20 years experience repairing, restoring and maintaining classic cars, including E-type Jaguars, Mercedes SL’s, TVR’s and even more modest, but no less enjoyable Fiat 500’s and Mini Coopers. The list of makes and models we have worked with is extensive.

Classic Car Servicing and Maintenance

Classic cars often need specialist skills and understanding, both with regular maintenance and in resolving issues that can frustrate owners and compromise their enjoyment of driving their pride and joy.

We love working with classic cars and will take the time to talk with their owners to understand what their needs are and where necessary work with them closely to identify and resolve problems if and when they arise. We take great pride in getting classic cars to run and handle properly and provide owners with the best driving experience. On a number of occasions customers have commented to us that their cars are running better than ever following work we have done.

Access to Specialist Skills

We have extensive workshop facilities including three ramps and full diagnostic facilities . Whilst our technicians have considerable classic car expertise and resource available on site, we will if required out source specialist tasks, especially with vehicle restoration. We have a close working relationship with a range of specialist craftspeople who we can call upon if required to work with us in areas like :

Classic Car Restoration

We carry out complete classic car restorations. We like to work closely with the owners during the process keeping them updated on progress and should any issues arise once work has commenced, agreeing as we go along how they want us to proceed.

Sometimes owners only want a partial restoration, with specific focus on a particular area eg interior re-trim, engine overall. Again we are happy to discuss your needs and can accommodate most requirements.

One of the most recent projects we undertook was the complete restoration of a 1960 Mini, this was featured in an article in Classic Car Magazine in their May edition. A image from the intro to the article is shown below, click on the image to enlarge.

The 1960 Mini came to us as bare bodyshell with just the rear wheels attached and the rest of the car in boxes. We spent a year rebuilding it, in what became literally a nut and bolt restoration with considerable effort made to restore the car back to its original specification. MOT Testing Station

In addition to repairs and servicing for Classic Cars Perranwell Garage is also a registered MOT testing station. We can provide all our services including a full MOT from one location, in Perranwell Station just outside of Truro in Cornwall.

Classic Car Storage

We are currently looking to expand our storage facilities for Classic Cars. If you’re potentially interested in using this new facility we would like to hear from you. To learn more please call 01872 863037 or email us.

Whether you need short term storage or a longer term arrangement we can accommodate your requirements. Some owners have a second home in Cornwall and we are happy to offer the facility to get your car prepared when you visit and then returned to storage when you leave.
